Responding to the growing destination event market, Susan Huntington and her son Spike Huntington have launched Soiree Wedding, Party and Event Planners as a resource for marketing the central Oregon Coast for events of all types. These two have a long and diverse background in event planning and execution, including conventions, board retreats, parties, business meetings, reunions and fundraisers.
Susan recently ended a nearly twenty year career in Chamber administration and often worked in concert with her son to produce some of the most memorable events in their previous community. While she lives and works in Newport, he lives and works in Portland, which allows great opportunity to both develop business in the metro area and bring it to Lincoln County. This dynamic, high energy team will take any event and deliver the attention to detail that makes it a truly ?special event?.
The Huntingtons have already begun attracting attention in Portland area with its marketing campaign that included a booth at the Portland Pride Festival. Soiree is continuing its search for the very best in Lincoln County business partners that include hotels, caterers, florists, photographers and more. In keeping with the business philosophy that networking via local Chambers is a MUST, Soiree has joined both the Lincoln City and Newport Chambers.
While the business is intentionally directed at destination events, Susan and Spike are also turning their attention to the local communities for opportunities. While building their business plan, research confirmed that the market is growing in areas where events like 50th anniversary celebrations and 75th birthdays occur with more regularity, and that certainly is the case in Lincoln County. They are also, naturally, interested in working with local clubs and organizations to attract regional and statewide meetings and conventions to Lincoln County. Their business can provide a number of valuable services for such events, including promotions, managing registrations, securing speakers and equipment and general troubleshooting.
